Global English Centre offers a range of English language programs that are designed for students who want to improve their English Communication skills; successfully sit an English language exam; or intend to study at overseas universities in the future.
General English Program
General English courses commence every Monday and students may study for as many weeks as they like. These intensive courses are offered Beginner to Advanced levels with a focus on: listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The General English (GE) courses aim to:
- Develop students’ confidence in using English for general purposes
- Develop students’ English proficiency so they can focus on English for Academic Purposes once they have attained the appropriate level of English
- Improve students’ skills in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing in order to communicate more effectively in English in both formal and informal settings.
Who is this course for?
General English is the best choice if you want to be able to use English better in a variety of situations. While all skills are taught, General English emphasises speaking and listening, and includes a wide range of functional English to help you feel at ease in any situation. At all levels, General English is fun as well as instructive. You will start to feel more at home in the English-speaking world right from the beginning. Students do a progress test every term to measure their improvement.

Assessment
Student progress is assessed through weekly in-class tests in the core areas of listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, as well as meta-skills such as presentation delivery and structured discussions. Every five weeks, a major assessment is also done and advancement is based on the results of all of these assessments.

Part-Time General English Classes: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (2 Hours Per Day)
Duration: 8 Weeks
Levels: Beginner to Advanced
Hours: 6 Contact hours per week
Qualification: GEC Certificate of English
