Work Experience
The Work Experience program encourages students to utilize their skills in the English Language and improve their existing job skills.
Program Description
The English and Work Experience program includes learning structured English each day with a native English speaking teacher in a high quality classroom environment and additional afternoon training is provided to develop the necessary skills to be effective in the Hospitality/Tourism Industry. Moreover, this English and Work Experience will provide international students more chances to learn and use English in a working environment and gain a better understanding of the Malaysian Hospitality/Tourism Industry, Malaysian life, its people and culture as well as gaining invaluable work experience.
Program Aims
– Improve students English skills, develop practical skills and give access to real Malaysian work experience environments to implement both the theory and practical aspects developed throughout the program
– Provide students the opportunity to undertake a discipline specific work placement as part of their program
– Provide students a great opportunity to apply and consolidate knowledge gained in coursework, experience workplace culture, and develop professional networks
– Assist in developing international opportunities for students
– Provide students access to graduate recruiters that place a premium on students who have participated in work experience programs as they recognize that work experience students are work-ready and more likely to be making an informed decision about their career choice
Who is this Program for?
English and Work Experience programs have been known to provide an opportunity for international students to gain valuable industry skills and practical work experience that will assist them with their future career search while also improving their language skills and experiencing Malaysian culture. With this English & Work Experience program, international students will have the opportunity to have hands-on learning practical work experience as they will have the chance to apply what they have learnt in various hotels, retail stores, bars and restaurants.
