Global English Centre offers a range of English language programs that are designed for International students who want to improve their English Communication skills whether for travel, business, to successfully sit an English language exam; or intend to study at overseas universities in the future.
The length of time you attend determines the progress you achieve. For stays of more than 3 months GEC can obtain a student visa if needed.
International English Programs
International English courses commence every Monday and students may study for as many weeks as they like.
These intensive courses are offered in Beginner to Advanced levels with a focus on: speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills as well as vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar.
International English Programs (IEP) aim to:
- Develop students’ confidence in using English for general purposes
- Improve students’ skills in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing in order to communicate more effectively in English in both formal and informal settings.
- IEP will help students develop communication skills in normal daily situations by being involved in activities with other students from a variety of different countries, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Develop students’ English proficiency so they can focus on English for Academic Purposes once they have attained the appropriate level of English
Who is this course for?
International English Programs are the best choice if you want to be able to use English better in a variety of situations. While all skills are taught, IEP emphasis is on speaking and listening, and includes a wide range of functional English to help you feel at ease in any situation. At all levels, International English is fun as well as instructive. You will start to feel more at home in the English-speaking world right from the beginning.

Assessment
Student progress is assessed through in-class quizzes in the core areas of listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, as well as meta-skills such as presentation delivery and structured discussions. Every four weeks, a major assessment is also done and advancement to the next level is based on the results of all of these assessments. This process enables students to recognize their individual progress.

GEC Activities – GEC Activities are optional, the price depends on the activity that is organised for the Students. Students wishing to participate in the activities can register at the school reception during their time studying at GEC.The value of the refundable accommodation deposit to be collected at GEC in Malaysia is RM 200.00
