Conditions of Enrolment
- Some courses require a prerequisite level of English language proficiency.
- Students will be tested on or before the commencement of a course, and placed in an appropriate English language level.
- Students must complete all class work, assignments, activities and assessments in order to maintain satisfactory progress and to progress to the next level.
- Students must inform Global English Centre immediately if they change their address in Malaysia.
- Students cannot change schools during the course without a written letter of release from Global English Centre, and four weeks’ notice is given.
- Global English Centre has the right to change its fees and conditions, cancel or defer courses, and to alter course timetables and class locations at any time without prior notice.
- Students understand that all courses consist of 20 hours per week face-to-face tuition, plus 5 hours per week supervised learning in our guided learning centre.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
- A Course Cancellation is not effective until it is received by Global English Centre in writing.
- The Enrolment fee and rental accommodation fee is non refundable.
- All fees except the Enrolment fee and the rental accommodation fee will be refunded if you are not granted a visa.
- If you cancel your course MORE than 28 days before your course commencement date all fees, except the Enrolment charge will be refunded.
- If you cancel your course LESS than 28 days before your course commencement date a cancellation fee of 25% of tuition fees will apply.
- No tuition fees will be refunded if you advise cancellation on or after your course commencement date.
- If you cancel your rental accommodation with Global English Centre less than 14 days prior to your arrival date, two weeks fees are to be paid.
- Refunds will be made to the student unless directed otherwise and in the case of students under 18, refunds will only be made to the student if directed to do so in writing by the legal guardian.
- Global English Centre reserves the right to expel a student if they are found to be involved in illegal activities and or unusual damage to the property, in such cases the student who does not adhere to the disciplinary code of Global English Centre will be given 8 hours’ notice to vacate the premises. In such cases no refund will be made.
- Study days lost due to late commencement on courses are not recoverable. There are no refunds for public holidays or absences occurring during your course.
- Should the student cancel their enrolment, Global English Centre shall effect the necessary refund within 4 weeks. The refund will be paid directly to the person who entered into the contract with Global English Centre, unless the person gives written direction to pay another individual. The refund will be paid in the same currency in which the fees were paid unless this is impractical. Applications for refunds must be received by Global English Centre in writing, addressed to the Director
- In the unlikely event that Global English Centre is unable to deliver your course in full, you will be offered a credit of all the course money you have been paid to date whereby the remainder of the course maybe completed at a later date. The credit will be applied to you within 2 weeks of the day on which your course ceased being provided. Alternatively, you may be offered enrolment in an alternative course by Global English Centre at no extra cost to you. You have the right to choose whether you would prefer a credit of the course fees, or to accept a place in another course. If you choose placement in another course, we will ask you to sign a document to indicate that you accept the placement. If Global English Centre is unable to provide a credit or place you in an alternative course, the Director will attempt to place you in a suitable alternative course or, if this is not possible, you will be eligible for a refund as calculated by the Director
- No refund for school courses due to unexpected situations or natural disasters (eg. fire, cyclone, flooding…etc.) The school may decide to close for the safety of the students and staff.
- Unused fees cannot be transferred as credit to another student.
- This agreement does not remove the right to take further action under Malaysia’s consumer protection laws.
- The registered provider’s dispute resolution process does not circumscribe the student’s right to pursue other legal remedies.
